- Dr. Murat Dağdelen grew up near Stuttgart and began his university education at the medical faculty of the University of Ulm and completed it at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. He also spent semesters abroad in Zurich and Istanbul.
- His interest in plastic surgery began early on. Even as a schoolboy, he modeled faces and attracted attention with his artistic skills. This combination of medical-surgical interest and artistic skills cemented his vocation as an aesthetic surgeon.
- My first contact with plastic and aesthetic surgery was at Marienhospital Stuttgart with Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Gubisch.
- He completed his studies at the age of 26 after successfully passing the state examination. This was followed in the same year by his doctorate (with the grade “magna cum laude”) and the start of his specialist training in the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Red Cross Hospital in Kassel.
- During the VDÄPC’s annual spring academy in 2013, he was able to demonstrate his surgical skills during a live nose operation.
- He fulfilled his training mandate as a senior physician by organizing the annual DGPRÄC advanced training course “Rhinoplasty for beginners”.
- Dr. Murat Dağdelen is one of the founding members and was the first president of the German-Turkish Plastic Surgery Association (GTPSA).
- He was the initiator of the international training congress “International Video Symposium (IVS) in Plastic Surgery”. This was organized in collaboration with the German-Turkish Plastic Surgery Association (GTPSA), International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) and under the auspices of the Association of German Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (VDÄPC) and served to promote the science and education of plastic surgeons worldwide.
- As a two-time scholarship holder of the German Society of Surgery and the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, he spent several months in the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery of Prof. Ivo Pitanguy and Prof. R.C. Ribeiro in Rio de Janeiro and in the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Hand Surgery of the “First People’s Hospital” in Shanghai with Prof. Zun-Li Shen.
- He also visited the two leading plastic surgeons and nose experts Dr. Rollin K. Daniel and Dr. Nazim Cerkes at their workplaces in New Port Beach, near Los Angeles, and in Istanbul.
- After qualifying as a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery, he continued his work with Prof. Ernst Magnus Noah at the Noah Clinic in Kassel. His last position there was as senior consultant in charge of the “Aesthetic Surgery” special consultation hours and as head of the Rhinosurgery Section, where he was responsible for the special care of nasal patients.
- Dr. Murat Dağdelen also has an additional qualification in hand surgery and is one of the few plastic surgeons to be a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) and has received Turkish recognition as a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery and hand surgery.
- To this end, a video library was established to enable plastic surgeons worldwide to visualize and learn the latest methods in plastic and aesthetic surgery. Dr. Murat Dağdelen was the scientific director of this video library. On the video platform you will also find numerous video contributions by Dr. Dağdelen on modern and innovative treatment techniques and operations.
