Ear correction treatment Düsseldorf
Ear pinning surgery, otoplasty
The outer human ear is a very complex but at the same time interestingly shaped and characteristically formed organ. There are different reasons for a deviation of the external ear shape from the so-called norm and different reasons for ear correction. Protruding ears can have a negative impact on self-confidence. Many of those affected suffer from this, often since childhood. Protruding ears are the most common malformation of the ears.
While protruding ears are seen as a symbol of luck and wealth in many Eastern cultures, in our Western world they often have an amusing effect and lead to teasing in childhood. Protruding ears often cause psychological insecurity or even disorders. They sometimes cause shame and feelings of inferiority in children. The causes of protruding ears are usually congenital deformities of the ear cartilage or asymmetrical or insufficient development of individual cartilage elements or an accident. Surgery can reshape the ear cartilage and reposition the ear. The procedure can be performed at any age.
The human auricle has already reached 70% of its final size by the age of six. In children, the procedure can therefore be performed before they start school or at the latest by the age of ten, also for psychological reasons, without fear of growth impairment.
